These falls are located in the western part of New York state. Settled between both the Canadian and USA, this view is definetly worth the trip. Make sure and bring your passport if you plan to visit the Canadian side!
The falls have been depicit many times over in paintings, books and movies. One of the eariler 1830 paintings, “Distant View of Niagara Falls” was produced by Thomas Cole. While there, make sure and buy a ticket for the “Maid of the Mist” as this is well worth getting as close as possible to the falls themselves. The roar of the water and the thrill of the waterfall is almost as good as an amusement park ride. I recommend going in the heat of the summer so the water is welcome and refreshing.
I took the behind the Veil tour as well and wasn’t disappointed. Many movies were filmed here and the most famous that I personally own is “Niagara” with Marilyn Monroe.
